Purpose
The Greater Tennessee Chapter of the Appraisal Institute has established two annual grants to promote the advancement of associate members seeking an Appraisal Institute Designation in Tennessee.
Description
In December 2005, the Greater Tennessee Chapter of the Appraisal Institute established two annual grants of $500 each. That amount was increased in September of 2009 to two annual grants of $1500, but only one scholarship will be awarded to an individual within a twelve (12) month period. The scholarships are to be awarded to students who are actively seeking an Appraisal Institute Designation in Tennessee.
When scholarships are awarded, they will be made by a special committee, appointed by the current chapter president, and consisting of no less than three (3) nor more than five (5) designated members of the Greater Tennessee Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, chaired by the Chapter Treasurer. However, if the Chapter Treasurer is not designated, he or she would be eligible to receive a scholarship and thus would be a non-voting chair of the committee formed by three (3) to five (5) voting designated members.
